SAFETRACK® MTI

Micro-Trench Infill System

Product Description

SAFETRACK® MTI is a, cold, liquid applied, self-compacting, flexible asphalt reinstatement system based on our unique resin technology.

A major advantage of SAFETRACK® MTI is its fast cure and short drive on time across the application temperature range. To facilitate this SAFETRACK® MTI is available in Standard, Low Temperature (LT) and High Temperature (HT) grades.

Use

The system has been designed for the infill and final reinstatement of micro-trenches in asphalt. The material is installed in a two-step process: the first to infill the micro-trench to within 10mm of the running surface; the second to produce an overband to seal the surface. SAFETRACK® can be supplied in a neutral colour for the infill section to act as a visual indicator of the fibre duct below. It is also available pigmented Asphalt Grey, which can be used for this area and specifically for the final 10mm of fill and the surface sealing.

Features

  • Indicator colour as a warning of the fibre duct below
  • Pigmented asphalt grey to match the road surface
  • First time reinstatement
  • Quick, simple and economical to apply
  • Safe to use – cold applied, no hot trade
  • Free flowing – no compaction required
  • Long service life – less maintenance
  • Rapid cure - Fast return to service with short drive-on times
  • Excellent mechanical interlock
  • Does not deform under traffic load
  • No secondary compaction
  • BBA HAPAS Approved

Surface Preparation

The vertical faces of the trench and adjacent surfaces to be treated must be clean and dry. Use oil free and dry compressed air to clear the trench of all dirt, standing water and loose material. Dry with a SAFETRACK® Drying Lance or with compressed air that is oil free and dry. Pay particular attention to aiming the air or air / gas mixture at the cut face on both sides of the trench to ensure that all dust arising from the cutting operation is removed, to leave a dust free, clean and dry face.

Application Equipment

There is a wide range of bespoke application equipment available from GCP designed to increase the speed and reduce the cost of micro-trenching. Please contact us for details.
