QUANTEC® SE-507

Admixture for low workability and pre-stressed concrete

Product Description

QUANTEC® SE-507 is a specific formula to be used in concrete mixes which have very low water content, and where accuracy and consistency in manufacturing process are required with excellent dimensional stability, surface finish and normal structure.

QUANTEC® SE-507 increases mixture performances without cohesion losses, providing full cement hydration and strength development. The use of admixture can represents up to 20% strength increase at the same cement content.

QUANTEC® SE-507 is based on a blend of carboxylated polyethers and synthetic surfactants, for use in block mix concretes, and low slump concrete systems involving vibro-compression and instant de-moulding. QUANTEC® SE-507 is manufactured under carefully controlled conditions, to produce a highly consistent product.

Advantages

  • Improved texture
  • Better surface finish
  • Higher cohesion of the concrete mix
  • Improved workability and compaction
  • Better process dimensional stability
  • 20 - 40% Improved strength
  • Cracking reduction
  • Fewer products waste
  • Reduced shrinkage

Method Of Use

Concrete blocks - including natural / lightweight or artificial aggregates, in both static / mobile production systems - air cured, steam cured and autoclaved.Concrete brick presses, Paving block production, Extruded concretes, Concrete tile manufacture or for most concrete/cementious systems involving low workability mixes and vibration intensive/press production methods.

Compatibility

With Cements :

QUANTEC® SE-507 can be used with all types of Portland cement, including cement replacement materials. For use with special cements we recommend that you consult GCP Applied Technologies.

With Other Admixtures:

QUANTEC® SE-507 should not be pre-mixed with other admixture prior to addition to the mix. The performance of the admixture may be affected by the prescence of other chemicals, and we would recommend that GCP be consulted in such circumstances.

Addition Rates

Range 400 ml - 700 ml per 100 kg cement

For best results, it is recommended that QUANTEC® SE-507 performance first be assessed in preliminary tests using the actual mix constituents. This will help determine the optimum dosage.
For advice and assistance with trials we recommend that you consult GCP Applied Technologies.

Effects of Overdosing

QUANTEC® SE-507 is supplied ready for use and should be added to the mix at the same time as the mixing water. QUANTEC SE-507 may be used in all zero or low slump concretres where improved compaction and reduced efflorescence are beneficial.

Overdosing in semi-dry mixes will yield a more plastic mixture, and problems may be experienced with edge slumping of cast masonry units. A reduction in compressive strength may also be noticed.

Health and Safety

For further information on Health and Safety matters regarding this product we recommend that you consult the relevant Material Safety Data Sheet from GCP. In line with general chemical handling precautions avoid contact with skin or eyes and protective gloves/goggles should be worn.

Packaging

QUANTEC® SE-507 is supplied in 205 litre non-returnable containers.

Storage

QUANTEC® SE-507 should be stored above 0°C and protected from frost. If the product does freeze it is likely that the emulsion stability will be irreversibly damaged.

Storage Life:
6 months from date of manufacture
