DE NEEF® Pipe Plug

Unique kit composed of a 1-component polyurethane resin with accelerator, protective gloves and a bag of polyester fibres to stop water leaks through pipes, wire conduits, cable transits, etc.

Product Description

In its uncured state the 1-component resin grout is a dark brown, non-flammable liquid. When the product is mixed, and after being soaked into water, it expands and cures into a rigid closed-cell polyurethane foam.

Field of application

Designed to cut off water leaks through pipes, wire conduits, cable transits, etc.

Advantages

  • Solvent free.
  • User friendly: all components in 1 kit.
  • The cured foam is resistant to most organic solvents, mild acids, alkaloids and micro-organisms.

Application

Prepare the void or cavity to be filled by removing all dust and loose particles with compressed air or water. If, possible, insert a stopper at the rear end of the pipe to contain the expansion of the plug and densify the foam.
Spread the cables evenly to assure all-round penetration of the expanding plug.

1. Application procedure

  • Remove the large metal can from the box.
  • Put on the gloves.
  • Pour the content of the small plastic accelerator bottle into the large metal resin can.
  • Shake thoroughly.
  • Pour the mixed resin over the polyester fibres when they are still in the bag and soak the fibres by kneading well.
  • When a homogenous colour is obtained, the mixture is sufficiently kneaded.
  • Take the mixed fibre wad out of the bag and activate the plug by immersing in water. The plug must be soaked well to get a good activation.
  • Insert the plug as far as possible into the opening, immediately after soaking.
  • Exert pressure for a sufficiently long time to obtain a dense and closed cell foam.
